Overview

Project Problem Statement: Many individuals and communities have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically experiencing food, housing, and unemployment hardships. While there are many non-profit organizations, companies, and general volunteers, there is still a need for a tool to connect to those in need to provide better accessibility to food/daily necessities and create a network of volunteers.

Problem Solution: giV. is a singular platform that allows users to both post/search for volunteering opportunities with organizations, connect as a community, and have the ability to volunteer for quick, easy, non-long-term opportunities without signing in.

Project Context: giV. was completed over the course of nine weeks as part of an undergraduate course on User-Centered Design at the University of Washington in the Spring of 2022. We were to explore the impacts that COVID-19 pandemic has brought us. After brainstorming, we narrowed down on the issue regarding the difficulty of community building, specifically within the volunteering community. To tackle this challenge, we went through the following research, design, and prototyping phases to create a solution.
