Project Reflection

Our team came into this project with many design ideas and were able to narrow down on the topic of volunteering during the pandemic, where we got to learn more about the problem space and was able to create a solution that connects the community with ease through volunteering.
Coming into the ideation of this project, we spent good amount of time narrowing down the user groups. By conducting user interviews to understand their desires and pain points better regarding connecting to the local volunteering communities. In addition, it allowed us to focus on two main user groups: volunteers and volunteering organizations. If we had more time, we would have loved to conduct more interviews with organizational members to understand some of their wants and needs. Using those insights, we could have fleshed out the volunteering opportunity upload process in a more user centric and friendly way. This could have also avoided the confusion regarding the user flow of that particular process.

One of the most surprising aspect of this project was how fluid and dynamic our team worked together, by working with each other through the different phases, we were able to see the variety of approaches each took to problem solve and design. Each one of us were dedicated to ensure that the project followed our design goals and that we deliver a product that reflects the vision we had at the very beginning. Everyone on the team were supportive, attentive to details, and responsible for the tasks assigned. This environment made the team working process easier and openly communicative for everyone.
